Harrison County Fairgrounds
This multipurpose facility, situated on 640 acres, is a comprehensive sports and entertainment complex offering a unique combination of events and leisure activities from family picnics to world class sports events. The focal point of the fairgrounds is the arena, encompassing (1) acre of covered seating for up to 1,200. It accommodates various events such as rodeos, horse shows, concerts, and motocross to name just a few. For the kids 18 and under, 11 regulation-size soccer fields.

Parks
With almost twenty parks and boat launches located throughout the County, the Board of Supervisors has proven their dedication to providing recreation facilities for both the young and the young at heart. From softball, football and soccer to playgrounds, tennis courts and walking tracks, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The Harrison County Parks Department is primarily responsible for parks outside the city limits. At different times they help with special events or may construct special projects within the city limits.
Parks are located from the most eastern to western part of Harrison County and north as far as Saucier. They handle daily maintenance during baseball, football, and soccer seasons, as well as work with the Harrison County Schools to provide gyms for the many youth basketball leagues. During the youth sport seasons they set the fields for play on a daily basis with grass cutting done every five to seven days, weather permitting. They work closely with the youth tournaments to provide fields that are in extra-special shape throughout the tournaments.
