STATEMENT FROM THE HARRSISON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
The Harrison County Board of Supervisors has not voted on nor held any formal discussions with the five Coastal mayors nor their chiefs of police on the curfew suggested by local law enforcement today. There is no curfew. The document that is being circulated on social media is apparently a suggestion created and signed by area law enforcement officials prior to presenting to the cities or county officials.
The top priority for the Harrison County Board of Supervisors will always be public safety. The board is working closely with Emergency Management officials daily to stay informed of all developments concerning COVID-19 and strongly encourages the citizens of Harrison County to continue the social distancing protocols and strict sanitization guidelines set in place by the CDC and the Mississippi Department of Public Health in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19.
