Public Records Access Rules
The Board of Supervisors of Harrison County has patterned these rules after the Model Rules suggested by the Mississippi Ethic Commission to provide information and guidance to records requestors and county departments for complying with the Public Records Act, Section 25-61-1 through 25-61-17, Miss. Code of 1972 ("the Act").
The purpose of these Rules is to provide “reasonable written procedures ... concerning the cost, time, place and method of access to public records, and to give public notice of the procedures.” Section 25-61-5.
If there are any conflicts between these Rules and “the Act” then “the Act” controls.
The rules can be found attached below, or by going to http://co.harrison.ms.us/downloads/ under Public Records Request Information.
