Harrison County Board of Supervisors declare state of emergency

The Harrison County Board of Supervisors made a local proclamation of a designated state of emergency ahead of the arrival of Tropical Storm Sally, which is expected to make landfall as a hurricane.
The proclamation will allow Harrison County to receive federal and state assistance with the preparation, mitigation and recovery of Tropical Storm Sally or Hurricane Sally, should the storm strengthen.
Harrison County remains under a hurricane warning, river flood warning, and a storm surge warning, which has the potential to be life-threatening.
