Senior Services
Harrison County manages (5) senior citizens centers to assist older citizens
on the coast. In addition, we have an information network to provide valid
current facts to older individuals or a person inquiring on behalf of
an older person of the available resources, services or programs in the
community. Transportation may be provided to eligible individuals to and
from community services, medical appointments, groceries, and recreation
activities.
Senior Citizens Centers
Many older individuals exist on a fixed income with limited opportunities
to socialize. They experience isolation and lack of a community base.
Senior Centers will enhance the dignity and independence of every individual.
There are (5) senior centers administered by the Senior Services Agency.
Notice: Due to online discrepancies with mapping and directional
services such as Googlemaps and Mapquest, addresses queried can show a
big gap in actual building location. Directional maps below are linked
to the actual building location in the mapping service AND NOT to their
address location. As a result, the address showing in the directions window
is NOT the same as the actual physical address shown below.

Home Delivered Meals
We deliver approximately 2,875 meals each week. These meals provide a
nutritionally balanced meal delivered to the home of the frail and disabled
elderly who are in most need of this service. Home delivered meals will
enhance the quality of life and support the maintenance of self-sufficiency,
allowing the elderly person to remain at home.
Transportation
Transportation is arranging and providing the transport of eligible seniors
to and from community services, medical appointments, groceries, and recreational
activities. This service helps to maintain the independence of older adults
as long as possible.
Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)
RSVP offers men and women age (55) and older exciting opportunities for
personal development and satisfaction by providing volunteer programs
that offer outlets for their energy and creativity while serving in their
communities.
Adult Day Care

seniors exist on a fixed income and have an array of health problems.
